The Silver Saddle Riding Stable

The Bark Eater Inn is host to The Silver Saddle Riding Stable.  With a herd of approximately 50 sure-footed, well mannered and responsive horses for both English and Western-style riding, guests have the option to spend a day or two in the saddle. Guides always accompany riders and provide basic, easy to understand instruction at no additional charge. Guests generally ride from one to four hours a day and return to the Inn for fresh baked cookies!

Come enjoy Twenty kilometers of trails for riding and cross-country skiing through the meadows and woodlands of a former working farm. 

The Bark Eater Inn is tucked away in a high mountain valley in the heart of the Adirondack Park. The Park is a mix of public and private land containing the largest wilderness areas east of the Mississippi.

Something for Everyone

Beginning riders will be made to feel comfortable and will be brought to a degree or proficiency consistent with the amount of time they wish to spend.

Many guests with advanced skills come to practice in our outdoor arena or enjoy some time out on our more advanced trails. 

We hope to finish a new Cross- Country course by summer '08!

The annual I Love New York and Lake Placid Horse Shows in early July attract top show jumpers and national team members. Racing events at world-famous Saratoga is about an hour away.
